The Spanish Gemological Institute (IGE) was born in 1967 to make Gemology known, promote its study, independently guarantee the quality of gems and jewels and promote research in everything related to the origin, value, properties, treatments, synthesis and gem manipulation.

The IGE has established itself as the main institution for the teaching, study and certification of gems in Spain and, currently, has expanded its scope of action to cover the needs of gemological training in Latin America.

Gomez y Molina Joyeros is a professional partner of the IGE and has a gemologist trained by the institution with which he has collaborated for more than three decades.
